Another former thriving subdivision was the Chalk River sub. It ran from Smiths Falls, Ontario to North Bay, Ontario. This line made up a part of the original Transcontinental railway line across Canada. There have been many rumors as to why it was actually abandoned and removed, however, we'll just let people believe whichever theory they wish. As far as I know, the only surviving rail is located at the Real Wool Shop, which is located in the former roundhouse and railway shops in Carleton Place.
The last picture is of a small and very old cemetery located literally right next to the line on Ferguson-Tetlock Road. It makes for an interesting feature that close to what was a busy class 1 railway's mainline.
